Seachtain na Gaeilge
Over the past two weeks we have been learning about the country where we live our home and our community and our Irish traditions such as the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
During circle time we talked about our community and where we live, the children loved talking about their favourite places to visit in the community such as the playground and the supermarket and hopes for cookies.
We spoke about the celebration of St. Patrick’s day where the children talked about attending the parade and that their families were participating in the parade. We spoke about having a parade and a party to celebrate in Naionra.
For our arts and crafts we drew a picture of our home, we drew the different rooms in the house and we painted our favourite place in the community too. We created a map of Ireland, an Irish flag and shamrocks.
For our arts and crafts we explored cloud dough and messy play inspired by the colour green for St. Patrick’s Day.
The children spoke about the post office and we created a card which we sent home in the post for our families.
The children were excited to dress up for our St. Patrick’s day parade where we marched around our environments singing and dancing. We also had a party.
