Dionosaur Lá Fhéile Bríde
Following our children’s interests, which we have observed over the last few weeks, we decided this week to focus on the topic of dinosaurs.
We started our week by talking about dinosaurs during circle time. We spoke about the children’s favourite dinosaurs and what they ate whether they were herbivores, omnivores or carnivores.
For our arts and crafts this week we painted using dinosaurs to create their footprints.
We drew our own dinosaurs and coloured in a picture of dinosaurs too.
The children loved exploring the messy play table which represented the habitat of the dinosaurs; green rice, shredded paper, flowers and dinosaurs.
This week the children loved being archeologists digging for bones in flour we used magnifying glasses and paintbrushes.
We also explored one of our friend’s dinosaur activities digging for bones in sand.
We also spoke about the celebration of St.Bridgit's Day.
The children loved gluing rushes onto their St. Brigid’s crosses and we also coloured in crosses too.
